Your GM will give you the guidelines for what is acceptable for the campaign that they have created.
You will be expected to create your character on DnDBeyond or bring a paper copy of your character sheet to each game session.
Expect to make additional characters for this campaign.  Do not expect to play a single character each session although you absolutely can replay a character more than once if they fit into another adventure.
